I have been recently exploring the Pomodoro Technique for working.

Pomodoro is a scheduling technique where you

  1. Decide a task
  2. Work on it for 25 mins
  3. Take a break for 5 mins
  4. Again, work for 25 mins
  5. Then take a break for 5 mins
  6. And so on..

My issue with starting Pomodoro was that is the 5-min break worth it?

What happens if it breaks my flow?

But that isn't the case.

The 5-min break is for assimilation, for recalling and connecting what you have learned in the past 25 mins.

It helps to tackle the problem better.

If you have done programming, this is similar to walking away from the problem or getting a good night's sleep to solve the problem.

Doing it as a habit works too.

Look into the “Pomodoro technique” and try it. There are apps to do it on all platforms.
