(Most) online learning certificates have no value.

In case this isn’t clear by now, let me repeat.

Certificates have no value including the ones you get from expensive websites like Udacity.

The employer hires you on the projects that you did to get the certificate, not the certificate.

For example - A Udacity Nanodegree has 5-6 projects.

If you can do projects of similar quality and showcase it on your portfolio, you are good.

Your Portfolio (e.g. GitHub) > Certificates.

Forget online course certificates, even college degrees have no value now.

No employer has asked me for a college degree. No one cares.

Certificates are easy to game.

So, focus on your GitHub, on your portfolio, on your work and not certificates.

You will be fine.
