Worked with my US-based company's leadership team yesterday to deploy a critical COVID fix to their website.
They were kind enough to ask if I would have problems working with them since it was night time for me. (11 pm in IST)
But I told them it’s fine and worked on the fix and pushed it at 1 am.
I don’t mind working late at night at times because I know it’s important for my employer's business.
In the end, an employer hires an employee to add value to their business and you should understand that.
If not, you are not a good employee.
Even if adding that value comes at certain inconvenience to you.
If you are kind and your employer is kind, it will just work out just fine in the end.
An understanding of each other's needs is needed between employer and employee to have a thriving, long-term, work relationship.
